A covered market stall space for Jacaranda Park: help our neighbors in Springfield
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $4,700 for materials.
🇺🇸 United States2,108 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,100, and the remaining cost is $4,700.
It will serve about 250 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $4,700 goes:
• Materials: $4,000
• Permits and inspections: $165
• Safety equipment and signage: $310
• Tools hire and delivery: $225
With deep gratitude,
Matthew
