A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Paris

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,200. It will serve about 262 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,200 goes: • Permits and inspections: $240 • Tools hire and delivery: $470 • Materials: $1,490 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
