A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Mandaue
A community-led a covered market stall space at the Cedar community hall that will serve 339 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 339 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Tools hire and delivery: $35
• Materials: $500
I hope life is good to you.

Stay strong. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Irapuato.
