A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Asaba

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 144 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $250 goes: • Materials: $175 • Tools hire and delivery: $25 • Permits and inspections: $50 Thanks for reading all this. - Chukwuemeka
