A community garden for the Pioneer health centre yard: help our neighbors in Madrid
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $500 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 351 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $100
• Permits and inspections: $170
