A community garden for the old Cedar bus depot: help our neighbors in Tallahassee
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $950 for materials.
🇺🇸 Florida, United States511 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Cedar bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $950.
It will serve about 243 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $950 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $220
• Permits and inspections: $210
• Tools hire and delivery: $520
Thanks for reading all this.

good luck, Jonathan. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings.
