A community garden for the Maple community hall: help our neighbors in Seattle
Volunteers in Seattle are raising $2,200 for a community garden at the Maple community hall.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,200.
It will serve about 140 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,200 goes:
• Materials: $1,550
• Permits and inspections: $135
• Safety equipment and signage: $150
• Tools hire and delivery: $365
Thanks for reading all this.

Thinking of you and your family. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Lapu-Lapu
best of luck, Joaquín. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
So sorry you're going through this, Joaquín. Hope this works out for you. Take care
