A community garden for the Liberty community hall: help our neighbors in Bangkok
A community-led a community garden at the Liberty community hall that will serve 136 neighbors.
Anywhere in the world115 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $950.
It will serve about 136 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $950 goes:
• Materials: $680
• Permits and inspections: $70
• Safety equipment and signage: $105
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
