A community garden for Sycamore Primary School: help our neighbors in Latina

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,750. It will serve about 557 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,750 goes: • Materials: $980 • Permits and inspections: $65 • Safety equipment and signage: $270 • Tools hire and delivery: $435 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
