A community garden for Freedom Park: help our neighbors in Peoria
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $2,500 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,500.
It will serve about 255 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $460
• Tools hire and delivery: $300
• Materials: $1,740
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Gave what I could, wish it was more. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Peoria.
Hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. Thinking of Peoria
You're not alone. More neighborhoods should do this. We're a small family in Tacoma but we're thinking of you
Stay strong, Axel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
Stay strong, Axel. Looking forward to the next update. God bless.
Thinking of you and your family, Axel. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My husband and I read this together. All the best.
