A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Warren
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $2,850 for materials.
🇺🇸 Michigan, United States3,847 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,850.
It will serve about 316 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Materials: $1,750
• Permits and inspections: $240
• Safety equipment and signage: $470
• Tools hire and delivery: $390
Thank you so much.

Hang in there, Jaxon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.
Best of luck, Jaxon. Shared this with my family
Sending strength, Jaxon. More neighborhoods should do this
Shared this with my family. Greetings from Cần Thơ
Take care, Jaxon. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Fortaleza this morning
