Rome
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,550. It will serve about 121 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,550 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $200 • Permits and inspections: $135 • Materials: $2,215 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Luigi

Updates from Luigi

  1. Update from Rome: I made the first payment toward permits and inspections. We're at 17% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 8% now ($214). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for permits and inspections is now scheduled.
