A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Naples
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $1,100 for materials.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,100.
It will serve about 556 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Materials: $820
• Tools hire and delivery: $175
• Safety equipment and signage: $105
