A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Multan
A community-led a community garden at the old Sycamore bus depot that will serve 529 neighbors.
🇵🇰 Multan, Punjab, Pakistan294 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 529 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $350
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Zoya?
Thank you. If you're in Multan I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great.
wishing you the best. Shared it with a few friends. My neighbor in Jakarta donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
