A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Mekelle
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $350 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 195 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $260
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $15
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
