A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Kasarani
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $350 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 278 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $230
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
