A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Indore
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $350 for materials.
🇮🇳 Madhya Pradesh, India551 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 250 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Materials: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $10
Thank you for reading my story.

Wishing you the best, Ganesh. It takes guts to ask. Well done
I hope things turn around soon. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Indore.
