A community fridge for the Union health centre yard: help our neighbors in Nagpur
A community-led a community fridge at the Union health centre yard that will serve 312 neighbors.
🇮🇳 Nagpur, Maharashtra, India1,205 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 312 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $65
• Tools hire and delivery: $50
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
