For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 428 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $280 • Permits and inspections: $15 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
