We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $900 for materials.

Móstoles
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $900. It will serve about 276 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $900 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $390 • Safety equipment and signage: $290 • Permits and inspections: $220 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Elena

    • Thanks for sharing this, Elena. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Put this on a community board in Fresno this morning. Thinking of Móstoles

      • Sending love. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Radom.
