A community fridge for the old Baobab bus depot: help our neighbors in Adama
A community-led a community fridge at the old Baobab bus depot that will serve 377 neighbors.
🇪🇹 Adama, Oromia, Ethiopia715 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 377 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $320
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $15
With deep gratitude,
Lemma
