A community fridge for the Maple community hall: help our neighbors in Cầu Giấy
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $100 for materials.
🇻🇳 Cầu Giấy, Hanoi, Vietnam829 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $100.
It will serve about 144 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $100 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $15
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Sending good thoughts, Tài. Your post was clear and honest. Sent it to 21 people at work. Thinking of Cầu Giấy.
thinking of you and your family. Hope you get there. Put this on a community board in Toronto this morning.
Sending strength, Tài. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did
Thinking of you. Shared it with a few friends. After 6 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Addis Ababa.
Good luck, Tài. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
