A community fridge for the Lotus vacant lot: help our neighbors in Mumbai
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $400 for materials.
🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India612 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $90, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 597 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $35
• Materials: $330
• Permits and inspections: $35
With deep gratitude,
Shivam

sending love. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. It's not much but it's yours. God bless
is there anything that isn't money that would help Shivam?
Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
Stay strong, Shivam. Gave what I could, wish it was more. All the best.
