A community fridge for the Harmony community hall: help our neighbors in Mumbai
Volunteers in Mumbai are raising $550 for a community fridge at the Harmony community hall.
🇮🇳 India814 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 123 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $370
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $65
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
