A community fridge for Sycamore Primary School: help our neighbors in Bogotá
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $350 for materials.
🇨🇴 Colombia452 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 450 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $280
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
