Nagpur
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 536 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $250 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $25 • Tools hire and delivery: $55 Thanks for reading all this.

Updates from Mahin

  1. Small update. $50 so far, I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery.

  2. Wanted to say thank you properly. 1% funded and I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.

  3. Update from Nagpur: the plan for materials is now scheduled. We're at 9% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  • Thinking of you. Your post was clear and honest. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care

    • Stay strong, Mahin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Kathmandu so I could bring a meal. Love from Moscow

      • You're not alone. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.
