A community fridge for Maple Primary School: help our neighbors in Rockford
A community-led a community fridge at Maple Primary School that will serve 538 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,950.
It will serve about 538 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,950 goes:
• Materials: $3,050
• Permits and inspections: $150
• Safety equipment and signage: $310
• Tools hire and delivery: $440
