A community fridge for Jacaranda Park: help our neighbors in New Delhi
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $500 for materials.
🇮🇳 Delhi, India1,772 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 402 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
• Materials: $395
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
