A community fridge for Cedar Primary School: help our neighbors in Kikuyu
Volunteers in Kikuyu are raising $150 for a community fridge at Cedar Primary School.
🇰🇪 Kenya906 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 308 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $50
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
