A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Winnipeg
Volunteers in Winnipeg are raising $1,150 for a community fridge at Cedar Park.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 573 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
