A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Scranton
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $2,900 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,900.
It will serve about 439 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Materials: $2,150
• Safety equipment and signage: $450
• Permits and inspections: $300
