For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 381 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $450 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $20 • Materials: $390 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 Thank you so much. - Babar

Updates from Babar

  1. Small update. $122 so far, I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($122 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Quick update: $25 raised so far (6%). I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

Rooting for you, Babar. Shared it with a few friends. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Bangkok
