A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Mysuru
A community-led a community fridge at Jacaranda Park that will serve 459 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 459 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $300
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 21 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Mysuru.
Thinking of you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Mysuru
Best of luck, Sapna. This could happen to any of us. God bless.
