A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Kyiv
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $800 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $800.
It will serve about 179 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $800 goes:
• Materials: $630
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Halyna?
Thank you. If you're in Kyiv I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Ask me anything else.
You're not alone. Hope you get there. My husband and I read this together.
praying for you, Halyna. Your post was clear and honest. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Adama.
