Amsterdam

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,600. It will serve about 306 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,600 goes: • Materials: $1,950 • Permits and inspections: $110 • Safety equipment and signage: $410 • Tools hire and delivery: $130 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Roos
