A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Agra

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 107 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $200 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 • Permits and inspections: $30 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
