For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,100.
It will serve about 389 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Materials: $2,350
• Permits and inspections: $170
• Safety equipment and signage: $360
• Tools hire and delivery: $220
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
