I'm Mukasa, 17, in Grade 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study public health.
I have a distinction average, I volunteer at an after-school program and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until March. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Thank you so much.

hope it all works out, Mukasa. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Wishing you the best, Mukasa. It takes guts to ask. Well done
Stay strong, Mukasa. Your post was clear and honest. Take care
You're not alone, Mukasa. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
Rooting for you. Hope this works out for you. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
