I'm Lukman, 17, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering. I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • sending strength. Study hard! It's not much but it's yours. Blessings.

    • Good luck, Lukman. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.

      • rooting for you. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
