A cochlear implant processor upgrade for Serenity: help me move freely
A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Serenity independence - we're $4,350 away.

I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at Calgary General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,350.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $4,350 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $3,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $270
• Delivery and set-up: $70
• First-year servicing plan: $260
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Thanks for sharing this, Serenity. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money
Praying for you, Serenity. This could happen to any of us. Blessings.
