I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at Gazipur General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $450. My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $450 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $350 • Fitting and training sessions: $20 • Delivery and set-up: $20 • First-year servicing plan: $60 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Parvin

                    • Sending strength, Parvin. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!

                      • take care. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 28 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
