A cochlear implant processor upgrade for Marco: help me move freely
A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Marco independence - we're $450 away.
🇮🇹 Sicily, Italy453 views
I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the Palermo Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $450.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around him. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $450 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $140
• Delivery and set-up: $60
• First-year servicing plan: $250
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
