I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at the Los Angeles Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,450. My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $4,450 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $4,150 • First-year servicing plan: $145 • Fitting and training sessions: $155 Thanks for reading all this.
