I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the El Paso Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,000. My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $7,000 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $6,250 • Fitting and training sessions: $260 • Delivery and set-up: $220 • First-year servicing plan: $270 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Elijah

Take care. Hope you get there. We're a small family in Saint Petersburg but we're thinking of you. All the best.

                    • This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of El Paso.
