A cochlear implant processor upgrade for Basma: help me move freely
A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Basma independence - we're $4,700 away.

I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Metz Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,700.
My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $4,700 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $4,200
• Fitting and training sessions: $185
• Delivery and set-up: $150
• First-year servicing plan: $165
