Lucia lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Salerno Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400.
Her current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Lucia could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $400 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $150
• Fitting and training sessions: $170
• Delivery and set-up: $80
