I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Knoxville Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,650. My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $6,650 goes: • braille note-taker: $6,000 • Fitting and training sessions: $310 • Delivery and set-up: $135 • First-year servicing plan: $205 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
