I coordinate donations at the Cedar Mosque in Karlsruhe. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Karlsruhe, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Cedar Mosque on Thursday between 10am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Cedar Mosque clothing bank, which is open to everyone. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Karl. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in Hyderabad donated after I showed her your page. All the best.

    • praying for you. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Karlsruhe.

      • Hope it all works out, Karl. Looking forward to the next update.

        • This could happen to any of us. Love from Fort Worth

          • Hope things get better soon. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Jacksonville but we're thinking of you. God bless

            • Praying for you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Bandung

              • Praying for you, Karl. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 14 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.

                • Thinking of you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best.
