I coordinate donations at the Acacia Mosque in San Fernando. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in San Fernando, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Acacia Mosque on Sunday between 10am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Acacia Mosque clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Jericho. Hope you get there. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out.

    • it takes guts to ask. Well done. It's not much but it's yours. All the best

      • Thinking of you. Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of San Fernando.

A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Likoni

          • Hang in there. This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Coyoacán so I could bring a meal. God bless
