I coordinate donations at the Liberty Community Church in Sapporo. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in Sapporo, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Liberty Community Church on Tuesday between 10am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Liberty Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • looking forward to the next update. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Sapporo.

    • Hang in there, Toru. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Denpasar so I could bring a meal.

      • Sending strength. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Greetings from Denpasar!

Hang in there, Toru. Hope this works out for you. Love from Mumbai

          • Praying for you, Toru. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. After 22 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.

            • Praying for you. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.

              • I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Put this on a community board in Asaba this morning. Blessings
